This training course is designed to give 15 to 16 year olds an opportunity to learn the skills needed to drive.
Students will receive training by a fully qualified DVSA approved driving instructor at our off-road site.
On reaching the legal age to drive students will be ahead in their training in both theory and practical skills.
Although this course outlines most of the skills covered when learning to drive, this is to be used as a head start when commencing driving lessons.
The course by no means detracts from the valuable tuition necessary to reach the high standards required to pass the DVSA driving test.
All students on meeting the criteria, will require road experience and tuition and therefore we advise taking up further training with an approved driving instructor before applying for the driving test.
The BE MILES AHEAD training course is designed to give 15/16 year olds an opportunity to learn the skills needed to drive.
Students will learn about the law and the responsibilities they hold when driving.
The course also provides an insight into all safety aspects when driving a vehicle and the dangers of driving on public roads without the proper tuition.
All students will receive training by fully qualified DVSA approved driving instructors.
The training is a two day course and is run every Saturday and Sunday from 11am minimum 4 hours training.
Both theory and practical training will be delivered enabling students to gain knowledge of the roads and learn practical skills within the vehicle.
The course is also suitable for students who wish to learn to drive but feel particularly nervous about being on the road. Students can learn control of the vehicle and the basic skills of driving in a quiet, stress-free environment. This will build and develop confidence and make learning to drive a more enjoyable experience.
Refresher lessons are also available and are delivered on an hourly basis.
First day course includes;
Theory sessions on the following; driving and the law, road positioning, roundabouts, use of signals, use of mirrors and overtaking. Practical sessions on the following; controls/cockpit drill, moving off, stopping, left and right turns, emerging.
Second day course includes; Theory and practical sessions on the following; reverse bay park, parallel park, turn in the road and emergency stop. All students will receive a signed certificate on completion of the BE MILES AHEAD training course outlining the knowledge gained and skills achieved. The cost of each training session is £100 with a minimum 4 hours on each session.
